Pianist Samson Tsoy was born in Kazakhstan, described as "the most promising" by BBC Music Magazine, and opened a 2019/20 season with a "stunningly good concert" ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ - The Independent. Tsoy gained an international acclaim by becoming a Laureate of the Santander Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition. He is also a Winner of the 9th Campillos International Piano Competition, a recipient of the Milstein Medal Piano Award, a former City Music Foundation Artist, a Laureate of the Imogen Cooper Music Trust.
Samson travels the world treating audiences to extraordinary, critically acclaimed performances. Last season included debut performances with BBC Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Vedernikov and Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev, as well as performances in Aldeburgh Festival, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Theatre de la Ville in Paris and Mozartiade in Seville.
